"This is a song about a girl I dated... she was a Leo... and its sort of derived from a letter that I wrote her, which explains the title. She was a girl who had a tough go of it in life... never fit in during high school and all that. She was a beauty but didnt believe it, and I always felt it was my job to show her that. From there it's your typical "girl breaks boys heart" story, but I love the feel of this song. The U2ish guitars are really haunting in a way to me, and I love that."

lyrics
Its funny how you're always the last one to know (to know)
when it's burning up in front of you
you take another breath but you can't feel alive (alive)
I'm just another thing you're going through to face this
you can taste this...
you're feeling so faceless in a crowd full of everyone whose so wrong
you took so long to finally find a better one, you see it all fall down
Get something off of your chest, so you can forget the rest
and you can help rewind... help me leave it all behind
we're just divided again... the summer season will end
and then you'll find someone else, dont leave me alone (alone)
dont let me hate you, invade you with thoughts that erase you (alone)
dont leave me alone
I never thought you'd go
we break down to face down the last round
you just had to know
Its funny how you're always just one step away
yet all you see is another mile in front of you
its funny how you try to be everyone else but yourself
well you know everybody's already taken...
that choice you're not making, the chance you're not taking
its taken me and everything you ever were used to
well do what you have to, theres nothing left to say to you
I see it all fall down
Get something off of your chest, so you can forget the rest
and you cant help rewind... help me leave it all behind
we're just divided again... the summer season will end
and then you'll find someone else, dont leave me alone (alone)
dont let me hate you, invade you with thoughts that erase you (alone)
dont leave me alone
I never thought you'd go
we break down to face down the last round
you just had to know
I saw your picture the other day and you never looked so real
well theres everything left to say, but you'll never say so
still you can look me in the eye, meet me on the other side
where Ill finally feel the weight of your arms around me
