"This song is about sneaking out with girls at 3 in the morning and trespassing into old, nearly burned-down abandoned buildings where you have to climb across rooftops and broken windows. I guess the idea is that some relationships never evolve from where they start. In this case, it never went any further than those dangerous nights, sneaking from one burned building to another. So, in essence... I was always just sort of 'stuck in the fire' with this girl... never being able to build it up to anything more than that."

The Comeback Year
lyrics
Its just a night where we wont go... we wont come and go
its 3am and the clocks in our pockets are broke
I remember your touch as you lead me home
Climbing up on the roof... wont let you fall behind
the only light is your bright eyes burning through mine
in the break of the sun... stars rolling
then we realize that the night's turned over
with your hand in mine I can feel that there's another
but the night is mine, but you'll fall on your face
yet again... we'll go where nobody used to go
Now I'm feeling like I'm stuck in the fire with you
screaming oh, oh
Burn it down, bring it back, take it higher with you
screaming oh, oh
Climbing out through the windows we see the broken glass
shining back are the answers to questions you'd never ask
your eyes were telling me yes still your voice said no
and I've been hooked on a feel that we've never felt yet
and I'm addicted to places, faces you forget
but in a blink of an eye... stars rolling...
then we realize that the night's turned over
with your hand in mine I can feel that there's another
well the night is mine, but you'll fall on your face
yet again... we'll go where nobody used to go
Now I'm feeling like I'm stuck in the fire with you
screaming oh, oh
Burn it down, bring it back, take it higher with you
screaming oh, oh
And there's something I can't find
did we leave it all behind?
we'll throw it all away
Now I'm feeling like I'm stuck in the fire with you
screaming oh, oh
Burn it down, bring it back, take it higher with you
screaming oh, oh
And now I'm feeling like I'm stuck in the fire
we'll burn it down and bring it back and we'll take it higher
and everything we never said... well I want it back... so do you
seems everyone that we hope for wont come true
could someone else that you hope for... hope for you?
I'm feeling like I'm stuck in the fire with you
