"This song is pretty back and forth lyrically. I think the verses sort of have this fun, not-so-serious appeal to them as it talks of listening to Joan Jett records while in bed and cruising to Nelly and Santana and all that. You know, those fun moments in any kind of relationship. But I think some of the deepest lyrics on this entire record reside right there in the chorus, where it talks of the relationship's end.
The "you were the sun when I was the burn, still you leave me colder you know I'll never learn, well I wasnt much... I'll never escape from the thought when its you who comes to mind" lines are my favorite on this album I think. At least so far. I think that's why this song made the final cut, because its one that really touches on both sides of the relationship coin, both the good and the bad."

lyrics
I should've known by now, and I should've seen this coming
I'm a little bit off right now, but that doesnt make me crazy
'cause its over like closure
sing me Crimson Clover just like Joan Jett in your bed
one of those nights I cant forget
but you take it all so lightly, and Ill start another fight
we never let go
You were the touch, when I couldn't feel
You were the fakest part of thoughts that were real
well I wasnt much...
I couldn't escape from the thought when its you who comes to mind
You were the sun, and I was the burn
still you leave me colder, you know I'll never learn
Well I wasnt much...
Ill never escape from the thought when its you who comes to mind
Well I should've known by now, I should've seen this coming
A little bit off right now, but that doesnt make you crazy
'cause you never tell me, overwhelm me
every time we cruise to Nelly', country grammar, MC Hammer
or some song by Carlos Santana
we take it all so lightly and I start another fight
we never let go
You were the touch, when I couldn't feel
You were the fakest part of thoughts that were real
well I wasnt much...
I couldn't escape from the thought when its you who comes to mind
You were the sun, and I was the burn
still you leave me colder, you know I'll never learn
Well I wasnt much...
Ill never escape from the thought when its you who comes to mind
And now I'm feeling like you build it up to break it all down
another place where we cant stay, we cant come around
that's where Im taking it back to...
but oh no, you're not feeling this.
Ill never escape from the thought when its you who comes to mind
when its you who comes to mind...
